Emailing Reports as PDF documents

Questions on using, creating, or understanding data in Fund Manager reports.

Postby Cole » Thu Dec 26, 2013 8:44 am

Hi Mark,

When emailing any of the various reports, is it possible to change the settings so all reports will automatically be emailed in PDF format? Or, to select an individual report be sent as a PDF? Currently all my reports are being sent as a picture format that is a low quality picture and difficult to read. I know one can copy the report into a Word document, then publish that document as a PDF, then email the report. When I do that the quality is much improved, but that is a lot of steps to take. If the PDF option is not possible, do you have suggestions on improving the picture quality of emailed reports?

Thank You as always for quick response.

Hi Cole,

When using the "Send by Email..." command you can't choose a PDF format, you can only get JPEG in that case. There are email options, where you can set the quality. If you set the quality at 100, it should be a high resolution JPEG. Maybe it is getting downsized by your email client... If you do a batch print/email, and set the options to save the image files, do those JPEGs look good?

If you do want PDF format, you can use the regular or batch print and print to a PDF file directly, without going through Word. Just make sure you have a PDF printer installed. A good, free one is PrimoPDF. You would then have to manually attach these files to an email.
Thanks,
Mark
