Commissions

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

Hi all.
I have just downloaded a trial of FM and am trying it out.
I guess I may be missing something, but when I go to File New Investment and enter my buy info there is no field to enter the commission.
How is this entered?
Thanks,
John

Hi John,

The "Commission" field isn't shown by default for all investment types, like "No-Load Mutual Funds". If you want to record a commission fee in the New Investment dialog, set the "Investment Type" to "Stock", and then you'll see the option to record a Commission Fee.

You have control over whether to use a Commission Fee or not for any given investment. Once you've created an investment, see "Investment Properties... / Other / Transaction Entry Preference:". The default value for this option is set when you create the investment, based on the investment type.
Thanks,
Mark
