two sub portfolios same investment

General questions about using Fund Manager that do not fit into any other forum.

HI I have two folders in my portfolio with the same shares but keep them apart for Ho wdo I do this or do I need to create two new ie separate entries
When I try to open the investment in the second folder it brings in all the data from the first folder it copies the transaction from that first folder into the second folder

Eg folder 1 IBM has 100 shares
when I open folder 2 and open IBM it copies and shows the 100 shares but I need the entry in the second folder to be 80

Hi alan,

Instead of re-opening the same IBM.dat investment file, create a new investment for your second holding of IBM. Use "File / New Investment...". Or, you could use the new command "File / File Operations / New Investment from Existing..." and leave un-checked the "Copy transaction data" option. For more on this, see:
